Blood donation at the Parents’ House in Jezero

Donate blood, be their hero!

Please be invited to join us on Tuesday, 18 September 2018, from 12 to 18 hours, in the Parents’ House in the complex of Pediatric Clinic in Jezero, where we are having – for the second time – an action of voluntary blood donation.

The Action is organized by joint forces of the Association “Heart for Kids with Cancer”, Red Cross of FBiH, Red Cross of Municipality Centre and Institute for Transfusion Medicine of FBiH.

During chemotherapy, every child with cancer needs blood. Quite often, they receive several doses a week. For them, the donated blood means life as they would never be able to continue treatment without it.

For that reason, we invite all people who have an opportunity to come on 18 September to the Parents’ House to give away a part of themselves to save a life of a child. Children suffering from cancer are the true heroes, but they also need heroes of their own who would support them. You can be their hero!

“Time spent waiting for that bag of blood, which you know literally means the life, is one of the most painful agonies one experiences during the treatment”, are the words of one of the mothers in the Parents’ House.

“Welcome to the Parents’ House. Along with our door, we open our heart to you, and together with the Red Cross we collect droplets that mean a life and that are so often needed by our children, that we can only get them from donors, there is no other way. Our children really need blood derivatives because they use them on daily basis”, said Director of the Association, Mr. Fikret Kubat.
