ZIRA x Srce za djecu: A partnership with heart

For many parents, the moment they learn their child has cancer changes everything. The world stands still, every second becomes a battle, and at that moment, more than ever, support is what matters most.

Since its founding in 2003, the Heart for Children Association has stayed true to its mission—caring for children with cancer and their families. They offer housing, food, psychosocial support, assistance with medicine, medical equipment, and treatments abroad, as well as organizing rehabilitation camps and educational workshops.

In the noble vision that every child deserves an equal chance at growing up, many local companies have joined the cause, including ZIRA Group. With nearly thirty years of experience, ZIRA is known for its business systems supporting telecom operators worldwide. Yet, ZIRA's impact stretches far beyond its industry, demonstrating its commitment to making a tangible, positive difference in the community through a long-standing partnership with the Heart for Children Association.

This partnership, now rooted in friendship, is based on a shared mission: ensuring that children with cancer, along with their parents, can have as normal a life as possible, at least in parts not overshadowed by a difficult diagnosis. ZIRA has become one of the permanent sponsors of the Parent Houses in Sarajevo and Tuzla, providing free accommodation for children with cancer and their families during and after treatment, as well as psychosocial support, basic supplies, and hygiene products. Above all, they offer a safe environment tailored to the needs and health conditions of the children. The Parent House is focused on creating a sense of home far from home—a place where families can find peace, safety, and strength to face life’s biggest challenges.

ZIRA contributed to the renovation of the terraces at the Parent House in Sarajevo and the yard at the Parent House in Tuzla. These spaces were designed as relaxing areas, temporary oases of peace and carefreeness.

“We believe it is the responsibility of companies to contribute to the community through concrete and lasting change. By investing in the community that helped us grow, we can empower new generations and continue to create conditions for a better tomorrow. Our support for the Heart for Children Association is not just symbolic, it is meant to strengthen children with cancer and their families, offering them support and a sense of security. We are building partnerships that have a real impact,” said Emir Bukvić, CEO of ZIRA.

Gifts made with heart

In addition to supporting the Parent House, ZIRA has been choosing SRCE Shop as a trusted partner for crafting corporate gifts for employees for several years. This partnership, deeply aligned in values, directs funds straight to supporting children with cancer and their families.

In 2024, a year significant for ZIRA due to its visual identity change, which was officially presented to the public on January 16th at Sarajevo’s City Hall, SRCE Shop was selected to produce sweatshirts for ZIRA employees. The sweatshirts, featuring ZIRA’s refreshed logo and design, are more than just corporate gifts—they embody the story of rebranding based on values that have shaped the company since its inception. This initiative highlights ZIRA’s aim to bring its new identity to life while connecting it with meaningful contributions to the community.

“We thank ZIRA for never leaving us in times of need but supporting us through the entire journey—not only when it’s easy, but also when it’s toughest. Their actions prove that love, compassion, and community responsibility are not just words, but concrete steps that truly change lives,” emphasized Fikret Kubat, Director of the Heart for Children Association.

The little heroes, whose battles inspire the whole community, remind us how important every act of support is. ZIRA remains by their side as a loyal ally and friend, showing that corporate social responsibility should be focused on easing community challenges and that business success can lead the way to positive change in society.
