In the previous hair donation drives that have been organised as part of the “My Hair, Your Hair” Project of the Association “Heart for the kids with cancer,” a large quantity of hair has been donated and used to make 23 wigs. All the drives have been extremely successful. The number of donors, when all individual donations that arrived at the Association address are included, is nearing 1,000.

The support of good people in the form of hair donations has not failed once more and the public hair donation drive in Tešanj, held in the Mepromex Shopping Centre, was extremely successful. A large number of adults and children responded to the call for humane action and came with only one goal: to take part in eliciting at least one more smile on a child’s face. Hair from 45 people was collected in Tešanj to be used to make more wigs, making more children happy, surprised and satisfied.

“We thank once more our fellow citizens who came here to support the “My Hair, Your Hair” project, sparing some of their time and their own selves to make someone else happy. It is they who will be credited with the big smile on a child's face when the child receives its own wig. It is a truly great thing to know that a part of you has been woven into someone else’s life, and that you have influenced someone with your kindness and a humane gesture. To see the smile on the face of a child with cancer is invaluable”, said one of the parents who attended the event.

The Association “Heart for the kids with cancer” continues their hair donation campaigns to make wigs for children with cancer as well as for children who have lost their hair due to other factors. In the coming period, further hair donation events are planned in other cities in BiH, which will be advertised to the general public in due time.

It is important to note once more that the Association is giving the wigs to the children completely free of charge, restoring thereby their self-confidence, minimising trauma related to hair loss, and, most importantly, giving them back the most important thing they lost – their smile.
