WAQF’S DIRECTORATE OF ISLAMIC COMMUNITY IN BIH AND THE PEOPLE OF KUWAIT CONTINUE BEING A PILLAR OF SUPPORT TO CHILDREN

Waqf’s Directorate of Islamic Community in BiH and the people of Kuwait donate BAM 110,000 and continue to be the pillar of support to children

The Parents’ House is the place where the most beautiful stories are being written. Goals, which were considered unattainable and distant, have become achievable thanks to numerous altruistic people. Projects of the “Heart for Children” Association have unified all the good-will people with one noble goal: to make our courageous parents and even more courageous youngsters feel as comfortable and happy as possible while fighting their hard battles.

Importance of the existence of the Association and construction of the Parents’ House have been recognized by the Waqf’s Directorate and its partners from Kuwait from the very beginning, but they also decided to continue to be the pillar of support and reliance to children with cancer and their families. Today, they donated BAM 50,000, thus becoming sponsors of an apartment “Pillar” for the next three-year period. In addition, they donated BAM 60,000 to the Fund for Treatment of Children with Cancer.

“The apartment sponsorship project is significant for the overall community and I am glad to say that it has already gone beyond theBiH borders. The Parents’ House, as one of the most significant projects, knocked all the borders down. It is a house for all children, regardless of their national and religious background, colour, etc. It is a birthplace of the most unusual friendships, unbreakable connections, and all that is related to difficult experiences, a child’s illness that makes no selection at all and does not care who is who. It is very important to us that all religious communities in BiH are involved in the entire process so that we can build ever stronger bridges between us and, in the process, do an unmeasurably good deed by helping to cure one child at least. As a parent of a child who was treated as well and who is well now, I am proud and happy when I see how difficult battles in the Parents’ House are being won with a smile. I am glad that with my own experience I can be a support to other parents as we understand each other best.

I would like to extend my cordial thanks to the Reis-ul-Ulama, dr. HuseinKavazović; former Reis-ul-Ulama, dr. MustafaCerić; Director of the Waqf’s Directorate, dr. SenaidZajimović; Ambassador of Kuwait inBiH, H.E. Nasser Riden Al Motairi and to the people of Kuwait; the Kuwait Association for Civilizational Dialogue – Tewasul; and to all institutionsthat, by means of donations, provided warmth of home and the feeling of safety within the Parents’ House to the families whose children receive cancer treatment therapy,” said FikretKubat, the Association Director.

“We intend to continue providing support to this project as the issue is about one of the most vulnerable categories of the BiH society. We are extremely happy for having the opportunity to be one of the Parents’ House friends as the project in itself is an enduring good deed, and the best way for one to be remembered even after death is to touch their hearts and provide them with what they need while being around. We hope that we will be remembered by these people and these children, in particular by those who survive.

The amount of BAM 100,000 is just an example of how we can stand by the people in need, by parents, by their children and we do hope that we will not stop here as we did not stop when it comes to the construction and equipping of the Parents’ House, and we will not stop up-keeping one of the apartments either”, said dr. Zaimović, Director of the Waqf’s Directorate of Islamic Community in BiH.

“On behalf of the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait and the Embassy staff, as well as on my own, I wish to extend my sincere thanks to you for inviting us to get together at this event. I’d like to point out that, by their respective activities, the Government of the State of Kuwait and the Kuwait humanitarian organizations express their unreserved support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens. Cooperation and contacts with humanitarian organizations are one of the ways of opening up new horizons of mutual cooperation and strengthening of relations.

With its citizens, the State of Kuwait, run by the nobility of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, is highly acknowledged by the international community and world's organizations and has become an example of humanitarian activities. Thank you once again for the invitation and I wish you all the success and happiness in your lives and future endeavours”, said the representative of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, Mr.AjeelAlahmad.
