It has been long known that the Parents' House is a second home to children with cancer and their families. Many personal stories of affected families revealed that the Parents’ House is a place where they can face the difficult diagnosis and treatment issues in the best and most effective way. Along with all the support they have in the House, it is the place where children relax, laugh, play, run around and reclaim a piece of the childhood that has been taken away from them when they abandoned their family homes. Parents’ House is the light in the darkness of heavy thoughts, turmoil and the greatest fears.
Thus, the project of sponsoring apartments “Friend of the Parents’ House” secures its survival, but also reveals the good people from socially responsible companies who have recognized long time ago the benefits of the Parent’s House to the children with cancer and supported its work in various ways.
BH Telecom is one of such companies that offered supporting hand to the Association Heart for the Kids with Cancer and their familiesfrom the beginning. It proved to be a faithful friend of the kids withcancer and their families through many projects. This time,BH Telecom, Miralem Pjanić, Trade Union of the General Directorate of BH Telecom and employees of BH Telecom, decided to give support to the Association and the Parents’ House in theproject of sponsoring apartments by donating funds for maintenance of two apartments in the following three years.
Apartments in the Parents’ House have their names and are theme-decorated, so BH Telecom and Miralem Pjanićchose to donate to apartment called “Snowdrop” and thus symbolically announce the birth of even stronger friendship and unconditional support. Trade Union of the General Directorate of BH Telecom and employees of BH Telecom chose to sponsor the apartment called “Tiny House” that symbolizes the care of the community and the roof protecting the kids with cancer and their families.
“Parents’ House means everything to me. They are treating me for cancer in the hospital, but the Parents’ House is healing my soul. I am so thankful for everyone who enable us to have the House and who refuse to have its door closed. It is my second home, it brings me the serenity I much need “, saidAjla (16) whois staying in theParents’ House during her treatment.
