Cancer does not mean the end - AJLA and ADVIJA

(Young people as the future of health profession in BiH)

With their courage, Ajla (20) and Advija (21) are the role models and inspiration to all of us. Ajla bravely faced Burkitt lymphoma and she won, while Advija, after 3 years and 2 transplantations, fought off Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The two of them together with other twenty young persons cured of cancer have continued to fight in another way. They joined MladiCe – a network of cancer cured young people who volunteer, expand awareness and thus change the word for the better proving each day that cancer with children can be cured. By their example they inspire and encourage young people and children who struggle, and provide huge comfort to the parents who fight this serous disease with their children.

Ajla says: „My decision to join the MladiCe network was one of the best decisions in my life. With my activism in the Association and in MladiCe I have learnt to cope with problems and to become a stronger person”.

Advija explains: „I share my story with other people because I think that it is highly important THAT THE CANCER STOP BEING A TABOO! Cancer is not the end, and my friends from MladiCe and I are the proof of that. We faced serious diagnoses, we fought and won!”

Ajla and Advija are fellows of the Association and hardworking students of the School of Medicine and the School of Medical Studies in Sarajevo.
