“MY HAIR YOUR HAIR PROJECT“ IS COMING TO BIHAĆ

New wigs for brave children

Within the My hair your hair project the “Heart for Children with Cancer Association” is organizing a hair cutting donation and donating it for the need of making wigs for children with cancer.

Around 60 children of different agesdevelop malignant diseases annually in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The percentage of those who are successfully cured is at around 80%. However, the road to gettingcured is difficult and painful, and to children, in particular to girls, one of the most difficult experiences is to facehair loss.

We would like to invite all citizens of the Una-Sana canton to come to the Bingo Centre in Bihać on 15th April from 10:00 to 16:00 hours and donate their hair forthe making of wigs for children with cancer.

For all those who want to donate their hair for the purpose of making wigs, it is important to note that hair needs to be clean, dry and chemically untreated and undyed, and should be minimally 30 cm long (ideally longer).

As of today we have made and handed over 15 wigs, while 6 wigs are currently being made. The wigs made at the craft-workshop of the Association are accessible absolutely free of charge to any child who has sustained temporary or permanent hair loss, so he/she could regain self-confidence and successfully integrate in their local community.

Amra Silajdžić Džeko has also supported the “My Hair, your hair” project by donating her hair, and thus has expressed her support to the Heart for children Association as she has become the first ambassador of the Association.
