Welcome to the Parent’s House 15 May 2018
Along with our door, we open our heart to you, and together with the Red Cross we collect droplets that mean a life and that are so often needed by our children. During chemotherapy, every child with cancer needs to receive blood. Quite often they have to receive several dozes a week. To them, the donated blood means life, as without it they would not be able to continue the treatment. So become a part of their fight! Donate blood, be their hero!
Any healthy, adult person, aged 18-65 may donate blood provided that medical examination and the tested level of haemoglobinconfirm it would be safe for both that person and for the person who would receive the blood. This means that the following conditions need to be met:
- That the person is healthy, of good general condition
- Weighs more than 50 kg
- Haemoglobin must be over 135 g/L(Hct = 0.38) for men
- Haemoglobinmust be over 125 g/L(Hct = 0.4) for women
- The interval between blood donations must be 3 months (12 weeks) for men and 4 months (16 weeks) for women
